It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 [And] He will say: "Contend not before Me, [O you sinners,] for I gave you a forewarning [of this Day of Reckoning]. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
