The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
