Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
