Hizb 53

Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
