The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 And the roof exalted, 5 and the sea that is full 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
