The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
