The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour of Resurrection drew near and the moon split asunder. 1 Whenever they see a miracle, they turn away from it and say, "This is just a powerful magic". 2 They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. 3 There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them), 4 Containing consummate wisdom; yet warnings were of no avail. 5 So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task, 6 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, 7 hastening towards the Crier. Those who deny the truth will cry, "This is such a hard day!" 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; I am defeated". 10 Thereupon We opened the gates of the sky for water to pour down, 11 And We made the earth break forth with springs; so that the water met for an affair already decreed. 12 But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: 13 Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected! 14 And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 15 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 'Ad also gave the lie (to Hud). So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 18 On an unfortunate day We sent upon them a continuous violent wind 19 which tore people away and hurled them as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 20 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 21 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 22

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
