Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
