Al-Qamar 2 of 3
The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And declare thou unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns. 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 How [terrible] were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
