The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
