Nay, and by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to humankind, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
