The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 The night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
