The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
