The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
