۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
