Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth and gains will not exempt him. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
