S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing. 5 Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
