By no means! By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
