There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 They have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day -- and they are left in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride. 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while. 44 And when it is said unto them: fear that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy, they withdraw. 45 And whenever a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they always turn away from it! 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
