Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
BEHOLD. We sent Noah unto his people. [Saying:] "Warn thy people ere grievous suffering befall them! 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
