88 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Moon (Al-Qamar) before A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 They marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say: 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
