And said a Muslim man from the people of Firaun, who used to hide his faith, “What! You want to kill a man just because he says, ‘Allah is my Lord’ whereas he has indeed brought clear signs to you from your Lord? And supposedly if he is speaking wrongly, then the calamity of wrongful speech is upon him; and if he is truthful, then part of what he promises you will reach you; indeed Allah does not guide any transgressor, excessive liar.” 28 My people! Yours is the kingdom today, you have dominion in the land; but who will help us against the scourge of God if it befalls us?" But Pharaoh said, "I point out to you only that which I consider right; and I guide you to the right path." 29 He who had faith said: “My people, I fear that you will confront a day like that which overtook many parties before you, 30 like the fate of the people of Noah, 'Ad, Thamud, and those who came after them -- God never wills injustice on His creatures. 31 "And O my people! I fear for you a Day when there will be Mutual calling (and wailing),- 32 On that day you will run away, but no one will be able to protect you from (God's Judgment). No one can guide one whom God has caused to go astray. 33 Verily Joseph came to you with Clear Signs before, yet you continued to doubt his Message. Thereafter when he died, you said: 'Allah shall send no Messenger after him.'” Thus Allah leads astray those who transgress the limits and are given to much doubting; 34 Those who dispute regarding the signs of Allah without any proof having come to them; how very disgusting this is, in the sight of Allah and in the sight of the believers! This is how Allah seals the entire heart of every haughty, rebellious person. 35 And Pharaoh said: O Haman! Build for me a tower that haply I may reach the roads, 36 to the heavens, so that I may look upon the God of Moses: I am convinced that he is a liar!" That is how Pharaoh's evil actions were made to look fair in the eyes of Pharoah, and he was turned away from the path [of truth]. Pharaoh's scheming led to nothing but ruin. 37
