Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 The closing night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
