Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
