۞ When [Jesus] the son of Mary is held up as an example, your people raise an outcry on this, 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. 60 It is knowledge of the Hour; doubt not concerning it, and follow me. This is a straight path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 Are they looking for aught but the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they are not aware? 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
