The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 pay their religious tax 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 to their promise, 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
