O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 those vie in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
