And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
