Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 we are the rangers, 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
