The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 by the moon when it follows the sun, 2 By the day when it glorifieth it. 3 by the night when it covers the earth with darkness, 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 He who purifies it will indeed be successful, 9 And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 when that most hapless wretch from among them rushed forward [to commit his evil deed,] 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
