Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
