S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
