The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
