The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
