Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
Almighty God's Truth.
