Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
