The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 or orders piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
