And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
