The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Requital corresponding. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
