Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
