Nay! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
