The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
