(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 Thamud, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
