S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
