The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
