Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
