Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! 27 Or shall We make those who believe and do righteous deeds as the workers of corruption in the earth, or shall We make the godfearing as the transgressors? 28 This is the Blessed Book that We have revealed to you, (O Muhammad), that people with understanding may reflect over its verses and those with understanding derive a lesson. 29 And We bestowed Sulaiman to Dawud; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 30 And when one evening well-trained and running horses of noble breed were brought to him 31 And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]." 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): 34 He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure). 35 So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, 36 and all the devils who built and dived for him. 37 And many others bound in bond. 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
