The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
