Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
