The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And no trifle. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
